UJM Rao, an all India Civil services IRAS (Indian Railways) cadre officer, is the Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. He has been working for the last 6 years in the Andhra Pradesh State owned Corporation dealing with Four (4) major Metro Rail and other Urban Transportation Projects under implementation by Andhra Pradesh State Government worth more than Rs.40,000 Cr in value.He is also an honorary member of CII and PM’s Gati Shakti, an alumni of ISB, Hyderabad and IUT, Delhi. Prior to the above said present assignment, he was positioned in various Senior Management levels in Indian Railways for more than three decades. He has wide knowledge in Railways and Metro Railways, specialized in Project management, Business administration, logistics and commercial operations, financial analysis and funding matters, cost estimations and cost auditing etc. He has also adequate International exposure owing to his official foreign assignments and personal visits to the countries like Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, England, Scotland, Australia and Dubai and thus he has high adaptability to the Global Environment.
